Hiroaki Morita from Team Ninja said that Dead or Alive 7 was developed by a small team inside the studio, but shortly before the departure of Johei Shinbori from the company, the team was dissolved. The same team also supported the sixth part of the series.

Dead or Alive 6 came out for a long time, and therefore fans of the franchise were very waited for to continue, but, apparently, he was not destined to happen.
